Contrary to the Armenian allegations, in fact, there is no consensus among the historians and legal experts to qualify the events of 1915 as “genocide”, said Orhan Tung, Press Counsellor, Turkish embassy in London.
Please read about the facts and information below, and you will understand why historians can not agree to killings of Armenians (2.5 times more killings on the Ottoman side) during those times as an organized crime.
- There are Armenian stories and claims (also similar ones from Turks in the region) when heard makes one outrage, but noting to back them up.
- There are fabricated documents argued among scholars about the authenticity of them.
- There are excuses (by Armenian historians) about not to use Ottoman Archives which are fully open to researchers.
One should also think about the relationships between Armenians and Turks during the Ottoman Empire times, and relate to whom would benefit for these 2 groups from being against each other; where these 2 ethnic groups who were so close and compliment each other so well. History is full of information for those who wants to learn. Even though here we are arguing, we are still very close to each other and friendship is still inside us.

Interesting Facts:
Bernard Lewis is a Professor Emeritus at Princeton University in the department of Near Eastern Studies who was condemned in a June 21, 1995 French court decision for statements he made denying the Armenian genocide.
Lewis responds:
"The court ruled that while it was "in no way established" that I had "pursued a purpose alien" to my "mission as a historian," I was at fault in not having cited, in the course of the interview, "elements contrary to my thesis" and had thus "revived the pain of the Armenian community." For this I was ordered to pay one franc in damages to each of the two plaintiff parties as well as a contribution to their costs."
"I have written elsewhere about the Armenian massacres and their historical context. This is not the place to discuss the various interpretations of these events and the varying quality of the evidence adduced in their support. Your readers might, however, ask themselves whether someone who cannot get the facts right about lawsuits in Paris last year can be trusted on the decisions of the Ottoman government in Istanbul 81 years ago."
